Can religion help you with your finances? That is a question that plagues us all at least once in our lives. We always question ourselves and our world around us in times of great need. But to answer that question YES, YES, YES!! Think about all the great motivational speakers and finance gurus of our time. Tony Robbins, Eric Thomas, and Les Brown these are just a few of the hundreds of guru’s that are out there. But with these three they speak of progressing yourself in your attitude and mindset. They all three as well say their success in their finances is due to their faith in their religion. Let’s look further into this so we can understand it better.
What does the bible say about finances?
Proverbs 13:11 states that Wealth that is gained hastily (get rich quick schemes) will dwindle (go away or be lost), but whoever gathers little by little (saving and/or investing) will increase it. Proverbs 14:23 In all toil (extremely hard work)there is profit, but mere talk (procrastination) tends only to poverty. These are two of many verses from the Bible, these two came from the English Standard Version. From these verses, we can see from the writer of the book of Proverbs was King Solomon that scholars believe was inspired by the wisdom of God. Could this be because he was inspired by God and the wisdom that he bestowed upon King Solomon? King Solomon was the successor of his father King David which is known to be a true servant of God. King David amassed great riches so much that he became the wealthiest kings of Israel. When King David passed he gave his great riches and his thrown to his son Solomon.
Does King Solomon gain the riches of the world as the new King of Israel?
Isn’t it odd that King Solomon wrote the book of Proverbs? King Solomon is famous throughout the Bible for being a very wealthy and wise King of Israel. So does that prove that the Bible can definitely help with your finances? What about the two verses, Proverbs 14:23 speaks of toil which the definition is to work extremely hard or incessantly. It states through hard work there is riches to be gained by hard work, but to only speak of it will bring poverty. Then Proverbs 13:11 says that wealth that is gained quickly will go away, but those who gain little by little (This shows that the Bible wants us to save and invest to gain our riches slowly) will increase it. This verse is speaking about saving and investing wisely you will gain wealth. Proverbs is known as the book of finances in the bible and has helped millions gain financial freedom by its teachings.
So going from just the Bible it obviously states from just these two verses that the Bible wants us to work hard, save, and invest wisely to gain our wealth in finances. The Bible also showed us that King David gained his riches through being a servant of God and following his teachings. Then King Solomon continued to follow the faith and the teachings of the bible thus keeping his great riches and thrown as King of Israel. This shows that religion can help you with your finances and have for millions of the Christian faith. So when you ask Can religion help you with your finances? I say most definitely it can, what do you think now? But this is only one of many religions which help those of the faith with their finances and their life.
